Among the five top executives is Sukandar appointed as the Vice Chairman of SKK Migas replacing M.I Zikrullah. Sukandar is a former President Director of PT Krakatau Steel Tbk. SKK Migas’ Secretary Budi Agustyono was replaced by Arief Setiawan Handoko who earlier served as Vice President at ConocoPhillips, an oil and gas company from the United States. SKK Migas’ Deputy for Planning Management, Gunawan Sutadiwiria was replaced by Jaffee Arizon Suardin. Jafee was one of the experts assisting the Vice Minister of EMR’s Arcandra Tahar. Fatar Yani Abdurrahman replaced Muliawan as Deputy for Operations Management. Fatar earlier served as a top executive in Malaysia’s state-owned oil and gas company, Petronas. Finally, Deputy for Business Support Management, Rudianto Rimbono was replaced by Muhammad Atok Urrahman, who was an expert staff in the Supervisory Commission of SKK Migas.
In his speech, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources thanked the former officials of SKK Migas for their contributions. He requested the new officials of SKK Migas to cut cost recovery since the amount increases from year to year. “President (Mr Jokowi) and I are among those who are wondering why the cost recovery is rising, while the production is going down,” he revealed.
He also hopes that SKK Migas will accelerate the upstream oil and gas licensing procedures. “I don’t want to hear any complaint saying that the procedure takes a long time to process,” Jonan added.
Amien concluded that the reshuffle aims to provide new spirit for SKK Migas to work more quickly and efficiently. (ACU)
